BLOSSOM CITY BLOG

Garden Place, Red Bud has been a very busy place this past week, with birthdays, a new resident, a church service and Father's Day celebration.

The Word of God was brought into our community last Sunday afternoon through the grace of Concord Presbyterian Church, PCA of Waterloo, IL. We are inviting other nearby congregations to bless us with their services on the remaining 3 Sundays of each month.

Everyone is looking forward to getting to know our new resident, Rebecka Stock who moved in this week. Welcome Rebecka!

Shelby Ludwig just returned from the hospital Friday. Welcome back Shelby!

The talented entertainer from Belleville, Bob Tyler, was here again Wednesday afternoon to entertain as well as help us celebrate the birthdays of Elda Stirnaman and Irene Bathon. As always, Bob sings "happy birthday" to each, followed by a special request from the birthday celebrant for their favorite tune.

Eula Cavanaugh was the winner of the "Manager's Bingo" for June and Rich Noelken made a lucky guess and won the monthly "Mystery Person Contest". The Bingo of the Month winner will be treated to lunch-out at a nearby restaurant of her choice as a guest of our manager, Marilyn Raban.

This week being Father's Day was opened Friday night with a Bar-B-Q and potluck dinner for 80, attended by the residents and their families, plus some talented musical entertainment furnished by Judy Hinkle. Then there was a special Father's Day lunch for the residents at noon Sunday. Check us out the next time you're in the neighborhood and see what's all going on!
