Life is in full bloom at Garden Place in Millstadt, Illinois. Just ask anyone who lives here about the friendships forged, the secure feeling of home and the feeling of belonging to a very large family. Many of our residents have stated on many occasions just how happy they are they made the choice to live here. Of course, anyone who is a part of the Garden Place family seems a bit biased to their opinion on that subject.
We're full of celebration here and despite the rainy weather that accompanied the July 4th holiday, we still managed to enjoy good friends and family, good food and good times. A special thanks to the employees and volunteers who worked so hard to deliver a wonderful spread for both families and residents as we entertained over 50 guests for the Independence Day BBQ. We enjoyed being your hosts and hope you enjoyed being our guests for this special day.
Speaking of special, this month will be packed full of wonderful entertainment, fantastic outings, vigorous activities and lots and lots of socialization. We never enjoying life here; there's always something fun going on! for instance, this month we will welcome Dave Sheppard, Bill Montgomery and Joe Powell to mention a few of the very talented entertainers who will visit and tantalize us with their songs. We've scheduled trips to the "Hill" neighborhood in St. Louis for a wonderful historical tour and lunch, breakfast out and shopping... whew! We're gonna be busy!
Our Adult Day Center is going full steam and we have openings for members available. Operating hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10AM until 4PM. The cost is nominal and includes a noon meal, supervised activities, structured socialization and transportation (within a specified vicinity). Please call any of the Garden Place residences if you are interested in learning more about this beneficial service.
In closing, this is a great opportunity to wish special birthday wishes to Garden Place General Manager Kathy Asselmeier, as well as special wishes to residents Earl Green, Edna Green, Kathy Heymeyer, Melba Linnemann and Luella Toenjes. Congratulations to each on their very special day!
That about wraps it up for this edition of the Garden Place Millstadt blog - stay tuned for upcoming news about all the goings on here throughout the summer.
Tori Salladay,
Manager
